Abstract: Ionizing Radiation Metrology is a research field in continuous development at national, European and worldwide level, and it constitutes the basis for reliable and precise measurements. In particular, nuclear medicine is strongly growing in use nowadays because it is sensitive and can exploit many types of molecules and markers, the development of innovative diagnostic techniques and therapies based on new radio-labelled molecules and new radionuclides. On the other hand, on worldwide scale, there is a special concern on the health effects of radon contribution to lung cancer in population. The main purpose of the project is the creation of some new national standards through an integrated metrological chain for new radionuclides used in nuclear medicine and of interest for public health, in order to ensure the radioprotection of patients, medical staffs and public
