Grant agreement nuclear data improvements and development of tools - nuclear data evaluation proiecte.nipne.ro/pn3/54-projects.html
Acronym: WPMAT1-RO Contracting Authority: Ministerul Educatiei si Cercetarii / Institutul de Fizica Atomica Number / Date of the contract: 1EU-14 / 2017-07-20 Subprogramul 5.2, Modulul EURATOM-RO Fuziune Project Manager: Marilena Avrigeanu / Vlad Avrigeanu Partners: Starting date / finishing date: 2017-07-20 / 2020-12-31 Project value: 607109 RON Abstract: (i) Completion and update of the previous implementation of the deuteron breakup formalism of M. Avrigeanu et al., Phys. Rev. C 95, 024607 (2017), has been carried out within a local version of TALYS-1.95 (http://www.talys.eu/), including the proper account of the 'breakup' (BU), direct reactions (DR) 'stripping', and 'pick-up', pre-equilibrium emission and evaporation, and also the enhancement of deuteron-induced reaction cross-sections due to the reactions induced by nucleons following the deuteron breakup. (ii) Validation of the optical model potential (OMP) for alpha particles relevant for evaluation of gas production has been obtained by analysis of fast-neutron induced alpha emission data by using model parameters established through analysis of distinct independent data and no empirical rescaling factors of the alpha and/or nucleon widths, for energies up to ~21 MeV and all available data for various reaction channels and isotopes of structural materials.
Objectives: The Institute of Atomic Physics (IAP)/IFIN-HH contribution to the EUROfusion Consortium (European Consortium for the Development of Fusion Energy, https://www.euro-fusion.org/eurofusion/) nuclear data development - evaluation of neutron cross sections, radiation damage data and benchmarking - has included model analysis of (i) deuteron-induced reaction data of structural materials and update of the d-induced TENDL data library (https://tendl.web.psi.ch/tendl_2019/tendl2019.html) as required for activation analyses of the IFMIF-DONES facility, and (ii) the optical model potential (OMP) for alpha particles relevant for the evaluation of gas production and radiation damage data.
