Abstract: The objectives considered by the IFIN-HH group in the frame of the Pierre Auger Observatory are related to the radio antenna array (AERA) and muon detection (a new detector built by our group in IFIN-HH). In the frame of the AERA array we will focus on digital signal processing, including signal-to-noise improvement and signal cleaning and signal reconstruction procedures.
The muon detector currently under construction in IFIN-HH will aid in the calibration of the AMIGA and SSD arrays to better measure the muon component of EAS. In order to integrate the detector with the Observatory reconstruction and data analysis procedures must be written and communication protocols implemented.
Objectives: In the frame of the AERA (within the Pierre Auger Observatory) we will focus on digital signal processing, including signal-to-noise improvement and signal reconstruction procedures.
In order to integrate the muon detector currently under construction in IFIN-HH, with the Observatory reconstruction and data analysis framework, procedures must be written and communication protocols implemented. This is the second obhective of our project.
